Sawatdee began in 1983 as the first Thai restaurant in the five-state area. Minnesotans were intrigued by the sweet, sour, bitter and salty taste combinations found in authentic Thai cooking.
"it does not matter who you are or when you come in to eat; you are treated with love, respect, and peace".
Forty years and four locations later, Sawatdee has become a Twin Cities favorite. Locally owned and operated by the original family, each location offers slightly different menus to reflect the preferences of people in each area.
All who dine at Sawatdee are, for Supenn and her staff, celebrities. They believe "it does not matter who you are or when you come in to eat; you are treated with love, respect, and peace".

Born in Thailand near Bangkok, Supenn Harrison grew up in a big extended family and earned a degree in teaching. After college, she came to the U.S. and got a married, started family and a thriving business. Click here for the whole story!
